Overview

韩读 is a Korean reading environment for PDFs, EPUBs, text and web articles, with tap-to-lookup dictionaries, AI translation, grammar analysis and a personal vocabulary book.

What it does

01—03
01

One reading shelf

Import PDF, TXT and EPUB files, paste Korean text, or bring in a web article without changing the reading workflow.

02

Tap, understand, continue

Dictionary definitions, pronunciation, examples and word origins appear at the point of need so attention stays inside the text.

03

AI as reading support

Selected sentences can be translated and broken down grammatically, while saved words become a reusable personal study set.

Behind the product

PROCESS & REFLECTION
01

Starting point

The idea came from the interruptions hidden inside language reading: copy a word, switch apps, search, return, and find the original sentence again. I wanted comprehension tools to feel like part of reading rather than an exit from it.

02

What I learned

This project pushed me to work across document parsing, web content extraction, dictionary data and AI output. More importantly, I learned that each technical layer should disappear behind one consistent reading gesture.

03

How my thinking changed

I stopped measuring the product by how many tools it offered and began measuring the time between confusion and understanding. Shortening that interruption became the core design goal.
